Busch & Muller Lyt

The Lyt is a very attractively priced alternative for those tempted to save a few dollars by purchasing a halogen headlight or an outdated, inexpensive LED light. Using current generation LED emitters and optics, the Lyt is significantly brighter than similarly priced dynamo headlights.
Halogen headlight bulbs burn out after about 100 hours of use. Replacement bulbs aren’t expensive, and replacing the bulb is very easy, but the inconvenience is that if a halogen bulb burns out and is not replaced or the light turned off promptly, the headlight will be broken. I’ve ruined a headlight this way when riding at dusk–it was dark enough that I felt I needed a headlight on, but not dark enough for me to notice when my bulb burned out. The longevity of LED lights makes this problem irrelevant. LED emitters won’t last forever, but they’re generally expected to last for tens of thousands of hours, meaning the emitter will last a lifetime for anyone who isn’t Methuselah.
Pair the Lyt with a Sanyo dynohub wheel for a superb economy dynamo lighting system, or to keep the cost of your Shimano dynohub lighting system under budget.
The included mount works with most caliper brakes and v-brakes.
As with all of my lights, I only stock the Plus version, which has a standlight capacitor that keeps the light on when the bicycle is stopped.
