If you ride on roads with fast traffic and would like cars to pass you at greater distances and slower speeds I highly recommend this light. It is hard to overstate the degree to which this light changes drivers’ behavior. It is that bright. It is impossible to ignore. You cannot look directly at it without hurting your eyes.  It lays down a beam of red several yards behind the bike it is on. I use this light anytime I’ll be sharing the road with traffic going 40mph+. Day or night–it can easily be seen in the day as well. It has greatly improved my enjoyment of these rides and I get a whole lot more room from cars.

Ideally every city would have dedicated bike facilities or routes that didn’t force us to ride on the same roads as cars operated by texting teenagers doing 55 in a 40, and it is a shame that it takes something as shocking to the senses as the Dinotte tailight to make sure drivers are paying attention and note your presence, but it sometimes does. The light comes in two versions. The only difference between the two is the power source. Each light comes with a light engine, seatpost mount, batteries, straps, o-rings, and battery charger. The AA version comes with four rechargable AA batteries; lithium ion with a two cell rechargable lithium ion battery.
