Local bike shops rarely stock helmet to fit very young children.  There aren’t many out there,  but this one from Airus fits most children from the time they’re eight to nine months old.  We stock the plain white helmet and stay away from ubiquitous busy kiddo prints, but you can decorate your helmet with reflective tape and stickers like we did if you’d like.  If white is out of stock we buy the blue.   If the small possibility of getting blue is a deal killer, then call the shop before you order to confirm what we have.

The helmet comes with two sets of padding, at about 1 1/2 years we had to change the padding on ours for the as our child’s head grew.  This helmet still fits our child, who is 26 months old, and there was still room for a thin wool beanie to keep him warm in the winter (we had to let the chin strap out a little).
