Bobike’s Maxi+ rear seat is made for children 20-50 pounds.  The Maxi attaches at three points on the bicycle–two support legs mount to brackets on the seatstays and the main tongue fits to a bracket which attaches to either the chainstays or the seatpost of the bicycle.  The ATB bracket, listed on the Maxi+ small parts page, is included.

The difference between the Maxi+ and the Maxi, which is also imported to the US, is the Maxi+’s higher backrest. We don’t stock the Maxi and have no plans to do so, however, we are happy to order it for you.  Price is the same as the Maxi+ and you’ll receive the Maxi in 5-7 business days, which isn’t too bad. The Maxi+ comes with footguards (not pictured) that attach to the footrest supports and prevent your child from getting their foot caught in the rear wheel.  The safety strap is very easy to adjust–just press a button on the bike of the seat and cinch to the appropriate fit.

Will this seat fit on my bike? I’ve only encountered one bicycle that I couldn’t mount this seat on.  In general, this will fit all diamond frame bicycles. But bicycle designers like to mess with designs that have been refined over decades, a design that possesses wisdom and functionality they don’t fathom, so they sit behind computers and invent “improvements”, most of which are simply novelties. I hardly know what they’ll do next, and if you’re unfortunate enough to be sold one of these bicycles, it is possible the seat won’t fit.  I make no promises and can only say if you have some odd bike this won’t fit on, just don’t scratch the mar the seat while trying to install it.  You can return it in new condition with the packaging within 30 days of purchase.
