The B43 is a very deep triple wall aero rim.  As you might expect, it is very stiff.  It is far more rim than most riders need–heck, the Deep-V is more rim than most people need, but most buy them for looks even though a lighter rim would be more suitable. All  B43′s come with non-machined sidewall. Using a rim brake on the powdercoated versions will result in mess of brake squeal and bad braking performance until the finish is worn away. There is no problem using any of the anodized rims with a rim brake. Anyone who tells you differently is-there isn’t a polite way to put it–completely ignorant concerning the issue. I use anodized rims on my personal bicycles and have never used one with a machined sidewall. If you want to use a powdercoated rim and plan to use a front brake, you could always use the Velocity Deep-V on the front since all Deep-V’s come with the option of a machined sidewall. Unless designated “ANO” all the rims below have a powdercoated finish. Velocity makes some colors in drillings other than 32H, shoot me an e-mail or call me to check availability on other drillings.
