Ordering

You may order through the website using all major credit cards and PayPal.   If you don’t have PayPal, when you check out follow the link under “Don’t Have a PayPal Account?” which will allow you to purchase with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  You may also order by calling the shop and ordering over the phone with a major credit card. We takes checks as well if you like to do mail order the old fashioned way.  If you have any questions whatsoever about any of our products or services, don’t hesitate to call or e-mail.  I will advise that I receive a daunting amount of e-mail, and sometimes I can’t give every one the time it deserves.  I try to answer all questions thoroughly, but there are so many hours in the day.  A phone call can often clear up in five minutes’ time what an e-mail exchange taking twenty minutes can’t, so please call me if you’ve e-mailed and haven’t heard back from me or have a numerous questions to ask.

Backorders and Inventory

Our shopping cart doesn’t have the capability to make items unavailable that aren’t in stock, so I have to change the availability manually if we run out of something. We try very hard to keep everything in stock that’s listed on the site.  If you purchase something that isn’t in stock via the web store, we’ll contact you asap.  If something we regularly stock is backordered and you’re willing to wait until we have it, we’ll ship it to you for free once we get it in. This applies to small parts, not large items (wheels, bikes, frames).

Shipping Charges

I ship almost all domestic packages via UPS. If that’s a problem (here’s to you, Ken M.) contact me and we’ll make other arrangements. Some smaller parts go out USPS Priority Mail.

There are two classes of shipping charges–one for wheels, bikes, and frames and one for “everything else that isn’t big.” For “everything else” there’s a flat eight dollar shipping charge in the continental US, but if you order $150 or more you get free shipping.

Wheels and wheelsets are charged a flat rate to the continental US. $30 for a wheelset and $15 for one wheel. A significant portion of this is packing materials. Wheelboxes and protective inserts for the wheels aren’t cheap. I pay just under $6 in packing materials alone for a wheelset.

Canadian shipping is $40 for a wheelset and $30 for one wheel. Europe, Japan, and Australia are $65 for a wheelset and $40 for a wheel.  These are estimates, but they’re pretty good estimates and I ship often overseas.

Frame shipping is generally the same as the cost of a wheelset. Complete bike shipping is quoted individually, but figure on $60-$100 depending on where you live in the US. Again, much of this price is for protective materials to make sure your bike arrives safely.  Completely integrated bicycles with lighting systems, racks, and fenders are best shipped complete unless you’re comfortable witha good deal of assembly.  Shipping a bike complete in a crate is $200-$500 depending on where you live.  Its an expensive option, but one that offers the greatest protection against damage and delivers a bike that needs only have the pedals attached and handlebar turned before it is ready to ride.

Returns

Refunds are given up to 30 days after the time of purchase for unused items and store credit up to 60 days after purchase. There are no returns on custom and special order items unless defective. If you have any problem with your item please contact us. We’ll do everything we can to fix the problem. Really. We want everyone to be satisfied with their purchases.
